Five Days of Riding, Reconnecting, and Building Community
There’s something powerful about getting a group of Special Operations veterans together, putting them on motorcycles, and heading out into the mountains. For SOAF, that’s about much more than the ride. It’s about reconnecting with people who understand the demands of service, rediscovering a sense of purpose, and building relationships that continue long after the adventure ends.
From June 5–7, the Special Operations Adventure Foundation hosted its inaugural Dual Sport Adventure in the Rockies at Grit Moto Ranch in Park City, Utah. Six Special Operations veterans came together for a three-day experience built around motorcycle riding, time outdoors, and the camaraderie that makes these retreats so meaningful.
Three Days of Adventure in the Rockies
The retreat brought participants together for guided dual-sport motorcycle rides through the surrounding terrain. With motorcycles provided through Colorado Motorcycle Adventures, participants could focus on the experience, the riding, and the opportunity to spend time with others who shared similar backgrounds.
Grit Moto Ranch provided the setting for the weekend, giving the group a place to come together between rides. Food, lodging, motorcycles, and guided tours were covered, allowing the veterans to participate without having to shoulder the expense of the experience themselves.
For three days, the focus was simple: get outside, enjoy the ride, challenge yourself, and spend time with the tribe.
The retreat was made possible through the support of several partners, including Grit Moto Ranch, Comoto, Mosko Moto, MotoZ Tires, Colorado Motorcycle Adventures, and 5280 Sprinter Service. Their contributions fully funded the inaugural retreat, demonstrating what can happen when businesses and individuals come together around a shared mission.
More Than a Motorcycle Ride A Community Effort
The inaugural Dual Sport Adventure in the Rockies was fully funded through the generosity of its sponsors and partners. Grit Moto Ranch, Comoto, Mosko Moto, MotoZ Tires, Colorado Motorcycle Adventures, and 5280 Sprinter Service helped make the weekend possible.
Their support illustrates an important part of SOAF’s approach: bringing together people and organizations who recognize the value of supporting those who have served.
As SOAF continues developing future retreats, partnerships like these will remain essential. Funding, equipment, suitable venues, and volunteers all help turn an idea into an experience that can make a lasting difference in a veteran’s life.
Help Fund the Next Adventure
The inaugural Dual Sport Adventure in the Rockies showed what’s possible when people come together to support Special Operations veterans. But we can’t do it alone. Every retreat depends on the generosity of donors, sponsors, volunteers, and partners who believe that our veterans deserve a strong community and a renewed sense of purpose long after their service ends.
Your donation helps make the next retreat possible. It helps cover the costs of travel, lodging, equipment, meals, and outdoor experiences that bring veterans together and create opportunities for lasting connection. Whether you make a one-time contribution, become a recurring donor, or introduce us to a business willing to sponsor a retreat, your support helps SOAF reach more veterans who could benefit from these experiences.
We’re asking you to be part of what comes next. Help us bring more veterans together, give them opportunities to challenge themselves, and rebuild the bonds that can be difficult to find after leaving the military.
Donate today at soafoundation.org and help us continue reconnecting warriors and restoring purpose.
Reconnect. Restore purpose. Keep the adventure going.
